Git yer spoiler on sucka!

Best weekend of the year so far weather-wise (worst blog intro ever - totally irrelevant - Ed).
Decided to get the spoiler on properly. Results are thus:

Also road tested to make sure it wasn't going to fly and kill some cows, and it passed with flying colours! The Espace tops out at a radical warp speed of *ahem*5 miles per hour, and i returned home, grinning, and happy.
Also, very aware that in the hot light of a warm day, it resembles a sauna within the cabin. Need to fix the electric windows effing quick, and/or install a freon unit for aircon... presumably the former is going to be easier to manage... (again, totally fatuous procrastination, stop it - Ed)

Bolted

So, following the 'incident', a triumph has occurred, namely in obtaining new bolts from a local specialist. These were purchased from Whartons in Witney, who i can't praise enough - what they don't have in the way of nuts and bolts, well, you know.
Turns out the French decided to use a metric fine threaded bolt, which made the task of replacing the one somewhere on the A40 extremely difficult! But nonetheless, it's now sorted, and the people of Carterton and the surrounding areas will once again receive their Chinese deliveries tomorrow night (times are 'ard - 3 jobs for yours truly to get the cash in).

Controlled Breakdown Simulation: Success!

Sunday May 3rd 2009.  We conducted a controlled breakdown simulation in  L'Espace.  Tim skillfully loosened a brake caliper bolt which slowly worked its way free on the A40.  We still had 75% braking power and easily came to a safe stop, but the various grinding and banging noises suggested something was amiss.

10 minutes later we were on our way again with a temporary fix involving a wheel bolt in lieu of caliper bolt.

Mission accomplished :-)

Full Glory

Just wanted to add one with the tape removed: -
